Both founded in 1912, Fenway Park and L.L.Bean share a historic New England legacy from the seventh inning stretch to boots that stretch. The duo is releasing a collaboration to benefit The One Fund—a limited edition tote bag using upcycled material from last year's Fenway rain delay tarp, which is sponsored by L.L.Bean. Only 3500 totes were produced and starting tomorrow morning, they will be sold exclusively at the lifestyle brand's Dedham, Mansfield, and Burlington stores, as well as at the Freeport, Maine flagship.
The bags were handcrafted in Maine from a scrubbed-down piece of that iconic Fenway tarp, trimmed with blue handles with a signature embroidered patch featuring The One Fund logo. On the interior, there is an additional logo and a narrative about the project. Retailing for $49, the tote makes a remarkable piece of memorabilia (and for a good cause at that).
