Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Over on our sister site Racked National, regular columnist Frank is already mourning it. The students of its high-end collegiate aesthetic are anticipating it with dread. According WWD Senior Editor David Lipke, it's a "sad day in Prepdom."
The big drama? Rugby, Ralph Lauren's diffusion line for the 25 and under set, is closing up shop early February 2013. Both its e-commerce and brick-and-mortar productions will conclude, which of course includes the Newbury Street flagship store. Come February 2, the Ivy League fascination of the general public will no longer be indulged without befriending a member of Harvard's famed finals clubs.
Go bid adieu to Rugby before it becomes a not-so-distant memory!
