Racked Boston Has Landed!

New, 1 comment

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Newbury Street has always catered to the shopping savvy, but as both sides of that Dirty Water become increasingly fashion forward, we believe that you, the Uggs-banishing, North Face-rejecting people of Boston, need an outlet. Cue Racked Boston, officially launching this moment. We strive to chat like a friend, think like a reporter, and keep you posted on the coolest shopping developments in the Bay State, often as they're happening.

On Racked Boston, store openings, closings, sales, and start-ups will sit alongside features on local designers, boutiques, and influential people about town. And to break the Boston bubble, we love merging local coverage with big picture stuff. You won't miss a beat.

Racked Boston joins Racked National, Racked NY, Racked Chicago, and Racked LA. Today, the Racked family of sites is doubling with the additional launches of Racked Philly and Racked San Francisco.

A bit about me, Susie Kostaras, Racked Boston Editor: I'm a lifelong Bostonian (excluding my college tenure in the adult playground most know as New Orleans) so for me, the recent boom of Boston's style scene is too big to ignore. I've spent the last three years writing for online retail behemoth Karmaloop, which launched Miss KL, a ladies-oriented spinoff, earlier this fall. Now here I am, delving into this whole journalism thing and having a damn good time doing it. Bags, shoes, and coffee table books make me weak in the knees.

It won't be a citywide conversation without your help. Yes, you! In our effort to leave no sale rack unsorted, we want to hear all the juicy gossip, observations, and on-the-ground fashion intel buzzing around Boston and beyond. Send all tips, pictures, and general info to boston@racked.com, and we'll send back a virtual Birkin bag filled with thank you hugs.
