Welcome to Selling Stuff 101, a primer on the best local consignment and buy/sell/trade spots in Boston.
Buffalo Exchange in Davis Square, via Buffalo Exchange.
Generally speaking, secondhand retail falls into a "think globally, act locally" manner of business, where the focus is on the neighborhood and its immediate market. Once in a blue moon, a nationally recognized contender comes onto the scene, and in this case, we're looking at Buffalo Exchange.
Like Second Time Around, the merchandise is sourced in the vicinity of each boutique. But while STA is consignment, Buffalo is buy/sell/trade, meaning you can leave with cash in hand or a higher value in store credit. Before you drop into either the 180 Harvard Ave storefront in Allston or the 238 Elm Street one in Davis Square, make sure to call and see what kind of gear is in demand. Hours and phone numbers can be found here.
