Patch NYC may be local, but their reach is very much global. The South End artist duo recently collaborated with cult favorite ceramics, candlemaker, and general cool home-goods maker Astier de Villatte, stationed in Paris with apparently twenty-odd ceramicists. Neither ceramics nor candles are unfamiliar media for Don Carney and John Ross to work with, as they carry both categories in their 46 Waltham Street courtyard store which feature Carney's distinctive line drawings.
In the AdV collection, Carney contributed his artwork for ceramic pieces and notebooks, which couples nicely with the illustrations he had previously contributed to the packaging of AdV's signature candles. The resulting pieces include ornate edges, shield shapes, and a variety of imagery ranging from serpents to skulls and fauna. Sounds like a must-see project to check out, no?
