BEACON HILL—Rowing buffs and prepsters worldwide will descend upon Boston this weekend for the notorious Head of the Charles regatta. Not surprisingly, North River Outfitter will throw a kickoff party with Boast USA (maker of polo shirts, tennis gear, and all around classic clothes) on Thursday night from 4pm to 9pm. Check out the fall women's collection (shawl collar cardigans, tweed blazers) and mingle with F.E. Castleberry from the Unabashedly Prep blog over Cisco Brewery suds. [Racked Inbox]
NORTH END—Also on Thursday, North End shop Shake the Tree is ushering in autumn from 7pm to 9pm. Aunt Sadie's Candles owner Gary Briggs will be there to introduce the holiday fragrances, while guests can shop New Hampshire's own Yellow Clover apparel. Art in the Age Spirits and Mercato di Mari snacks will be served. [RackedWire]
