South End jeweler Sophie Hughes opened a standalone store, called Ore, this weekend at 80 Dartmouth Street, just a hop away from Back Bay Station. Hughes is stocking plenty more accessories goodness than simply her own collection, including small-batch perfumes from MCMC, Meg Erickson bags, scarves by Ashley Conchieri, and artwork—much of which come from the studios of fellow Boston artisans. Another running theme throughout the boutique are female twenty-something makers, which are described as "women whose work share a sense of fearlessness and a willingness to leave behind comfort zones and test the boundaries of adornment." This cast of artists includes Hughes and local jewelers Lauren Passenti, Hannah Blount, and Laura Jaklitsch. The shop is open daily (by appointment on Mondays).
