What gives? It seems that 344 Newbury Street cannot sustain a retail operation for long, no matter how expansive the space may be. We suspect increasing rents are to blame, as is often the case on the prestigious street. 344 received its name from the address of this flagship location, which previously housed the local chain's predecessor, Jasmine Sola. Today, the boutique shared news of its upcoming closure in an email to customers, signaling the start of an epic sale.
The shutdown is specific to Newbury Street, so fans of the trendy, student-friendly inventory can still get a 344 fix at the Prudential Center storefront. Its e-store operations also seem pretty solid. Of course, we recommend swinging by the sale before visiting the Pru.
