The latest real estate scoop from Curbed Boston, right this way.
BEACON HILL—Tremble before the most expensive monthly rent ever paid for a Boston residence: $40,000! Indeed, the lease for the Benjamin Mansion at 74 Beacon Street includes a $40,000 security deposit, too. Also, tremble (though not so shakily) before the $30,000 per month being paid to rent this Ritz penthouse.
BACK BAY—Ex-Patriot Wes Welker has found a buyer for his penthouse duplex at 42 Commonwealth Avenue. The deal doesn't close until April 1, so we don't know the exact sales price. But the 3-BR, 2.5-BA was last listed for $2,550,000.
ALLSTON—The day of reckoning hath arrived for Barry's Corner. The Boston Redevelopment Authority is expected to vote tonight on whether Harvard and development partner Samuel & Associates can build 325 apartments and 45,000 square feet of retail at North Harvard Street and Western Avenue.
HUB-WIDE—Curbed University is still very much in session! Recent lessons have include everything you wanted to know about short sales and the sorts of questions you should be asking brokers before you work with them.
