Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

If the only thing you see in Daniela Corte's store is the seasonal ceiling installation, it will quickly dawn on you that Spring 2013 sourced inspiration at the marina. Bright nautical blues, yellows, and crisp whites in sailor silhouettes and slinky minis are a powerful recharge from dreary winter wears. Some cute polka dotted and gingham swimwear sits in the center of the room begging for a spring break, as well as a logo tank that is apparently a big seller and perfect for covering up between beach and cafe.

The collection includes multiple artsy prints, particularly memorable watercolor sailboat and sketched floral prints. We also saw geometric cutouts in necklines along with lace pieces such as sheer trousers and a drop-waist frock. Any of the mix-and-matchable separates would fit in on Cape Cod's shores or those of Miami and are appropriate for women of all ages. Are you thinking what we're thinking? Vacation.

Here's a behind the scenes peek at the making of this local designer's lookbook:
