Welcome back to Neighborhood Style Showdown, our quest to determine Boston's most stylish neighborhood.

We didn't see this coming: the South End is facing competition from Somerville hub Davis Square in our final round of voting Greater Boston's most stylish zip code.

Here's the trajectory of the South End and its irreplaceable boutiques sprinkled throughout narrow side streets off Washington, Tremont and Harrison: It beat the Back Bay in round one, and then went on to crush Beacon Hill. Can't stop these fashion-forward denizens. Meanwhile, Davis is representing the alternative folks across the Charles by knocking out JP and Mission Hill, then Allston/Brighton, and having a renaissance not unlike that of the South End. Sure, it may be on the outskirts of town, but that's not keeping people from hopping on the Alewife Red Line tracks.

Which neighborhood will be crowned most stylish? The mainstay, South End, or the underdog, Davis? Our polls will stay open all weekend and the winner will be toasted on Monday. Cheers!
