Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Welcome to Party Bites, a new Racked series where fancy people at glamourous parties answer our probing questions.
Alert the masses, The Great Gatsby has finally arrived. The long anticipated Baz Luhrmann mega-flick opens today but this past Monday, designer Tonya Mezrich hosted a private screening for a theatre full of her nearest and dearest. Boston's own East Eggers mixed and mingled at the AMC Loews Boston Common and were treated to an advanced viewing while donning their most magnificent '20s attire. In honor of the films biggest star, the Prada costumes, we asked party-goers, "If your life was a movie, who would design the costumes?" Check out their answers in the gallery above and enjoy some of our favorite looks from the night.—Justin Reis
