San Francisco-based Benefit Cosmetics has been a beauty world darling since the 1970s, with its girlish mantra "laughter is the best cosmetic" and bubbly, clever packaging you won't want to toss. Boston finally welcomes its first stand alone outpost of the brand, a 1,100 square foot shrine to looking good at 156 Newbury Street. Drenched in a signature pink, white, and black floral wallpaper (which we hear graces the walls of all Benefit properties worldwide, the headquarters included) the store boasts a brow bar, an airbrush tanning room, and a couple full-body waxing rooms.

In the cosmetics arena, you'll find the company's mainstay product Benetint—originally developed to make a stripper's nipples rosier (true story) but now considered a cult lip and cheek stain—alongside a new color collection with packaging inspired by the Art Deco details of San Fran's Golden Gate Bridge. Fan favorites like the POREfessional primer and They're Real! mascara sit front and center, with makeup artists at the ready to equip your beauty arsenal with necessary additions.

Over on the waxing side, $25 will grant you exquisitely finished brows and for $28 you can try out threading as an alternative hair-removal means. Prep for summer with a full body wax and airbrush tanning, $48, for a sun-kissed golden hue on every inch of your skin. Budget babes can simply scoop up the award-winning Hoola bronzer to achieve that facial warmth daily.
