Nordstrom Rack is changing the off-price landscape in some very major ways. Today WWD notes that the discount brand of Nordstrom is starting to swap its registers for more merchandising space, using iPod touch checkout devices instead. In addition, it continues catering stores to the surrounding market, noting that Boston's Back Bay location did not originally have a children's department but is now filling that need.
