The West Coast is graced with a bevvy of Margaret O'Leary boutiques, but around here, her inspired knitwear label is relatively unknown. However, WWD reports that the designer is considering Boston as part of her expansion east—a perfect fit considering our need for and obsession with all sorts of sweaters in this generally cool climate. The fifteen year old, San Francisco-based brand recently opened a boutique in Venice, CA, inspired by a design from architect Chris Barriscale in another regional Margaret O'Leary store. While knitwear is the focal point, these boutiques also stock merchandise from AG, Clover Canyon, and more. Hopefully she will pursue a Boston location.
