In just about a week, home goods boutique and design studio Twelve Chairs will be opening its new space at 581 Tremont Street in the South End. Already relocated from its three-year home in Fort Point Channel, the team welcomed visitors to its sidewalk sale merchandise last week as part of the bigger South End initiative—but don't expect the second-floor, boutique-inspired studio to officially open its doors until after Labor Day (the web store is on hiatus until then too). The owners tell us that the new spot was gutted, offering them the opportunity to design it from the ground up, whereas the former shop which was already architecturally interesting: "We got to put our mark on it; it allows our design services and creativity to shine through."
