DOWNTOWN—Sneaking in just before the end of summer, a bar literally made of ice opens today at Faneuil Hall. Frost Ice Bar is kept at a balmy 21 degrees Fahrenheit, and guests pay an admission fee ($19) to borrow a cape and gloves, go in for 45 minutes, and drink (cocktails are $11, not included in the admission). Ogle the icy space here.
HUB-WIDE—Fall is almost upon us, and there's an unbelievable number of restaurants opening this season. Check out Eater Boston's ultimate fall openings guide to keep track of them all. It'll be updated throughout the next few months.
FORT POINT—Mario Batali's plans to open Babbo Pizzeria e Enoteca in Fort Point have fallen through. The Globe pinpoints a dispute over a wood-burning oven as a possible cause of the failed lease negotiation. Batali says that he "will continue to look for the perfect location to serve the exciting and vibrant Boston community."
HUB-WIDE—It's the last big holiday weekend of the summer, so you've got just enough time to tackle this summer bucket list. From a burger at Sullivan's to fried Ipswich clams at Neptune Oyster, these are the must-eats for the waning warm days.
