Welcome to Racked Boston's Hottest Trainer 2013 competition. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile eight good looking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. Once you get to know everyone, we'll host a bracket-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!
Prepare to be impressed: Jessica Bashelor has only been a trainer for a year and a half, but she just opened her own spinning studio in South Boston, The Handle Bar. Sitting at the head of spin classes has become her favorite thing ever, and while that cheerful smile might not signal it, Jessica describes her teaching style as tough. If you hop on a bike, expect a 45 minute "sweat-fest" of "a kick-ass cardio workout and upper body burn into a music-driven party on a bike."
While generally she remains stationary during work hours (as in, on a Schwinn), Jessica has traveled to every state in the country—but clearly, she's found a home on Dorchester Avenue. What keeps her and her students motivated? New workouts are going to hurt: "Accepting and loving that pain is how you'll ultimately change your mindset and transform your workout from a chore to a necessity." Also, who doesn't want that body?
