Hottest Trainer Contestant #5: Christina Lodde

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome to Racked Boston's Hottest Trainer 2013 competition. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile eight good looking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. Once you get to know everyone, we'll host a bracket-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!

Recycle is certainly not your typical spin studio. Owner Cate Brinch and her team develop classes that go beyond the bike, combining muscle sculpting weights and yoga with the tried-and-true cycling workout. One of those most popular instructors is Christina Lodde, who juggles personal training clients in her free time and serving as Human Resources Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers during the week. Her varied dance background mixed with the martial arts-based fitness program CorpBasics makes for a positive attitude focused on form and safety.

At Recycle, she veers toward a hip hop, rap, pop, and alternative rock soundtrack—and come September, she'll bring that energy to Barry's Bootcamp once it opens here in Boston. Unfortunately, none of her studios offer the chance for Christina to work her Hawaiian and Tahitian dance skills (exotic, right?), but she is well-versed in pushing students out of their comfort zone. Her biggest advice: "Allow yourself to fail. Getting out of our comfort zone is how we make progress and if we don't fail we will never grow and succeed." Now how exactly do we grow those abs and perfectly toned arms?
