Here are this week's top food stories from Eater Boston.
HUB-WIDE — Autumn virtually requires the consumption of fancy teas, coffees, and hot chocolates. Here's a guide to nine area coffee shops that go above and beyond the standard options.
HUB-WIDE — Pretend there's a clever cat pun here (but they've all already been done). Boston could get a cat cafe — yes, that's a cafe where there are cats to keep you company while you sip your coffee. It's merely the dream of one cat lover at this point, and she'd need a special health code variance to make it happen, but she's trying to make Miaou Boston a reality.
CONCORD — Jason Bond is aiming for early November to open his second location of Bondir, this one in Concord, and he's made some essential hires lately, both for the new location and the original in Cambridge. Sous chef Rachel Miller will head to Concord, and Island Creek alum Jade Boyd will take over as sous chef in Cambridge.
HUB-WIDE — Your very important local cronut update: most area Whole Foods (except for the particularly small ones) will be carrying cronuts for the month of October. Available flavors are lemon, raspberry, and Boston cream.
