Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We've crossed our fingers and our toes when it comes to wishing for a Boston-area Uniqlo, and finally, a Racked tipster has spotted its possible arrival at the Mall at Chestnut Hill. On the Simon Property Group "Property Highlights" page for the suburban mall, its "Current Lease" floorplan makes note of Uniqlo in a first floor space next to Bloomingdale's Home. Have our prayers for affordable down jackets, sturdy cashmere, and casual basics been answered? 2014 is looking pretty bright already.
Update, 2/4/14: The Boston Globe reports that Uniqlo has been removed from the current lease plan for the Mall at Chestnut Hill. The suspense continues!
