BACK BAY—The 28-story, 187-unit tower Avalon Exeter at 77 Exeter Street has officially started leasing, with penthouses asking more than $9,900 a month and 3-BRs asking $10,000-plus. One-fourth of the units are already spoken for.

BOSTON—The city's neighborhoods have changed immensely when it comes to who lives where, what they earn, how they get to work and what language they speak at home. The changes may surprise you, too.

JAMAICA PLAIN—The 2,603-square-foot house at 41 Parley Avenue hit the sales market late last week for a cool $1,295,000. It has the potential to be one of JP's biggest home sales of 2014.
