Even if pubic hair makes a comeback through the efforts of Gwyneth Paltrow and American Apparel, many women are prepping to wax the majority of theirs off in anticipation of next week's love-celebrating holiday. Maybe a bikini-centric vacation is on the calendar, or even a boudoir shoot. Whatever the reason for hair removal, waxing expert Jacquelyn Ezzell of Jacquelyn's Waterfront Day Spa emphasizes that not all waxes are created equal. Bringing eighteen years of experience to the table, Ezzell offers a couple tips for your next Brazilian.

The bad news first: Ezzell recommends three full weeks of growth after your last shave before waxing...meaning you're already behind schedule for a pre-Valentine's appointment if you drop the razor now. That being said, while you may not stay hair-free as long as possible, a last-minute wax will take care of hair at least one-quarter inch long—and Ezzell claims she can do a Brazilian the day-of without irritation thanks to an essential-oil wax blend. The real surprising tip though is to avoid Lycra during workouts. Preventing skin from breathing, it becomes a "perfect storm" for irritation. Instead, work out in cotton (especially undergarments).

Ready to abandon that regular shave? Jacquelyn's Brazilian rings in at just $45, and she can even shape designs like hearts and arrows for friskier customers.
