Last Night's Workout Brought the Heat (And Broadway Tunes)

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Though temperatures dipped last night, an intrepid group of Public Body fans assembled at South End Athletic Company to embark on our Racked Fit Club workout with trainer Chad Flahive. After a quick jog to the nearby parks on Washington Street, attendees worked their way through high-intensity interval exercises (from dips on park benches to burpee push-ups along a fountain's edge) while Flahive offered upbeat (and often irreverent) words of encouragement. Next up came "The Accumulator"—a memory game of sorts in addition to a serious burn—where we worked through various moves in succession, including a curtsy-style lunge that had Flahive singing Broadway tunes. A quick stretch and sunset later, this Public Body class wrapped up. Thanks to all who came! Stay tuned for our next free workout later this month.
