Earlier this spring, there were hints of a shoe shop opening in the North End. At the beginning of April, Luigi & Lola (named after owner Charlene Love's two dogs) opened its doors. The boutique carries stiletto styles and quirky boots from the likes of Pour La Victoire, Plomo, and Carolinna Espinosa with an accessories selection including Pietro Alessandro's US-made Italian leather bags. A cute promotional touch is the Scarpa del Giorno (a.k.a. "Shoe of the Day"), highlighting a discounted shoe to play off daily special boards at the ubiquitous Italian restaurants around the neighborhood.
