Share a Workout or a Blowout With Mom This Mother's Day

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Haven't yet checked off that Mother's Day box on your to do list? As the Racked crew compiled memorable gift ideas in a recent Editors' Essentials post, we discovered that the best way to honor mom is with a shared experience. Several Boston studios and salons are equipping you with pampering activities this weekend and beyond, which we've collected here for your ease.

WORK OUT
On Saturday, The Handle Bar invites mother-daughter pairs to its new Fenway studio for an 11:30am indoor cycling class ($20 per rider), followed by a DAVIDsTEA sampling from the brand's 2014 summer flavor collection. Reserve online.

Out in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts newcomer SoulCycle welcomes riders to a "Moms Who Rock" theme class on Mother's Day, featuring music by female musicians who are mothers. Reserve for 1pm on Sunday here.

GET PRETTY
Also in Chestnut Hill, Drybar is offering a Mother's Day special with a 6-pack of 12-pack of blowout gift certificates, cleverly in the shape of a drink coaster with "Hot Mama" on it, priced at $225 and $440 respectively. Included in the purchase is a "Small Box, Big Hair Volumizing Set."

On Newbury Street, G2O Spa + Salon is celebrating moms all month long. Book a hair color service or 60-minute/90-minute massage Monday through Friday and receive a complimentary "Bali Paradise Experience," an herbal steam room and tropical shower valued at $75. If you simply book a mani-pedi, G2O will also give access to its skylight hot tub, roof deck, steam room, fireside lounge, and brine inhalation room. Mothers-to-be can score a maternity massage for $125.

If mom has a thing for gold but you can't quite afford that keepsake necklace she wants, try the 24-carat gold mask (an anti-aging superstar) at Equinox for $145.

Skoah—with locations in the South End, on Newbury Street, and at The Street—has a few fun gift ideas to pamper. "Fur moms" (aka pet owners) can appreciate K9 Shampu and Konditioning Spray for their pup ($15 each). Catering to mothers-to-be, Skoah's "Tummy & Mummy" facial ($140) gives love to her face and her blossoming baby bump. Finally, a $75 Mom bundle provides a potent mix of a $50 gift card, Petal Power body oil, and a limited edition piña colada bubble bath.
