New Balance is merging two aspects of American heritage with its Made in the USA Authors Collection: literature and shoe-making. The new collection (the first pair will be available in July) uses sneakers as the canvas to translate themes and stories from important periods in US history, though it won't actually link the shoes to any particular author names.
