Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Though a surf culture does exist in New England, it remains a small one, meaning most surfing-curious adventurers have to hang ten elsewhere. If you've ever dreamed of a trim surfer's physique, options are slim—until now. Rooftop at Revere, the sky-high lounge at the Revere Hotel, is welcoming SURFSET for twice-weekly classes using the start-up's proprietary surfboard. Shark Tank fans might recognize the workout concept (Mark Cuban has invested in SURFSET through the show), but let's acquaint the rest of you.

The 60-minute class ($25) will run Thursdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 10:30am with only five students per session (reserve here). The classes will be taught by Astrid Bengtson of Bodytalk Factory in the North End, reportedly burning more than 500 calories a workout. Sarah Ponn, co-founder and director of marketing and training for SURFSET, notes that the program offers "cardio benefits of spinning with the strength and versatility of TRX® suspension training and fun had in a Zumba class but all on an unstable surface."
