CENTRAL SQUARE — Cambridge is getting a 24-hour restaurant: Clover. It should open this fall and will have to check back in with the licensing board after three months to make sure the whole 'round-the-clock thing is working out.
HUBWIDE — Eater's roving critic Bill Addison filed the final report from his recent Boston expedition, highlighting Alden & Harlow, Coppa, and Craigie on Main.
EAST CAMBRIDGE — Two pop-ups are combining forces to create Loyal Nine, a restaurant and cafe in a former liquor store space on Cambridge Street. Hand Taste Collective and Brasstacks are involved.
INMAN SQUARE / BACK BAY / DTX — Brian Poe is buying into Bukowski Tavern (first the Cambridge location, which is closed until fall for a big revamp, and then the Boston location). He'll make the menu a bit fancier (think exotic meats), but the "mug club" will still exist. He's also opening a restaurant called Poe's Pub in Downtown Crossing.
