Listen Up: Flock's End of Summer Playlist

It's reached that point in mid-to-late summer where we've simply overplayed our summer playlists. We've used and abused them—at the beach, out for a run, having lip sync-alongs and tiny dance parties on the T. In an effort not to go postal the next time we hear "Fancy" (I-G-G-Y), we tapped fellow music lover and stylish free spirit Dani McDonald of Flock.

When she isn't in store, Dani can often be found traveling the country to see some of her favorite acts. And as it happens, Flock is one of the best places to grab new threads for your next concert. "Birds of a Feather" by Phish
"For those who don't know, my favorite band is Phish so we try to play a few of my top picks in the shop. This song in particular was the inspiration behind Flock's name, so needless to say it is a constant on the playlist."

"Kool On" by The Roots
"We're not hippie dippy all the time at Flock! We like to mix in some of our favorite hip hop. I love the Roots because of how much musical talent there is in the band, from Questlove on drums to Blackthought's unparalleled lyrics. This song is one of my favorites because, well, 'stars are made to shine.'"

"Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac
"Stevie Nicks is not only one of my favorite musicians, but also a style icon in my eyes for all things leather, fringe and lace. We have the whole Rumours album on our playlist but this is the song I find myself grooving out to in the shop."

"Another Girl" by Wild Belle
"We are totally in love with Wild Belle and their album Isles. This brother/sister duo is new to the music scene but have a cool sound that seems like they've been around forever. The album has a great flow to it that makes shooting in the studio so fun and airy."

"Scarlet Begonias" by Grateful Dead
"I love this song because it reminds me of summer time, dancing with your friends at a festival, and the free spirit in all of us."
