Welcome to Racked Boston's search for the city's hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile eight smoking locals—fitness experts who not only look hot in spandex, but can make you look amazing too. Once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which readers vote for their favorites. Let the games begin!Photos by Lucie Wicker
If you've ever taken a class at Barry's Bootcamp Boston, you know co-owner Dustin Martin: he's the guy who won't take no for an answer. Dustin describes his teaching style as tough and dirty. "You've got one hour with me to reverse the other 23 hours of damage you have done to your body," says the Syracuse native.
He knows about that kind of damage first-hand. The former finance guy spent ten years working stressful days that completely curtailed his athleticism. Barry's Bootcamp changed his life, which is why today he loves attracting new clients: "The hardest step is often the first one, but the minute you start feeling better, sleeping better, and looking better, it will be addicting."
During his (admittedly rare) down time, Dustin likes to cook with his fiancee, Courtney, and is psyched for the trip to South Africa and Mozambique they have planned for the fall. He's also been known to indulge in a scoop or two of mint chocolate chip ice cream. And at the end of the day, this hard body is really a big softie: "I always love a big hug at the end of class."
